Medicine has a default patient. Too often, it isn't us.
Most of what doctors learn comes from research on people in Europe and North America. Writing Mind the Gap, a handbook on how clinical signs appear on Black and brown skin, showed me how much that leaves out. This clinic is a chance to build care the other way round: here, for the people who live here, with prevention at its heart.
